I get many suspicious emails with a .zip file attachment. I want to send them all to a special folder. How can I do that?

Good Question. You may have to get use to dragging them to the folder. I'm guessing you have a reason to save them. You do have a good virus filter right? These types of emails get deleted by everyone but the anti-virus folks. They of course have the knowledge and software needed to deal with that kind of stuff. https://www.avast.com/en-us/contacts will get you to a link to the avast Virus Lab. I would Google the name of the zip file and if it's a virus or malware don't mess with it. Nothing good will come of it. There are sandbox programs that you can download if curiosity has you by the tail. Be offline and prepared to reinstall everything on your machine. But before that, read the tales of woe from others who have messed with this stuff. It can get into your hard drive, bios, and any other chip that accepts software updates. I would delete them or send them to a virus lab. I hope I haven't stepped on your toes but if that stuff is malware and escapes to the web, woe to the rest of us.

This does not help. I would like Thunderbird Mozilla to have a better filter in place. Outlook at least has a filter that allows to isolate emails with attachments. Thunderbird does not. Can we get Mozilla to create a filter for attachments where we can define any or specific attachment extensions to be routed to a specific folder. Thanks.

That's a different question. Mozilla Thunderbird as far as I can see does not support that kind of filtering. I think it's a good idea. If it was there I might use it from time to time. If you follow through and post a question asking for a way to separate emails with attachments, it will hopefully generate some interest. I thought there was a page to ask for, or suggest new features, but I can't find it at this point. If you post, someone will get you to the place you want to be. Be sure you mention that Outlook has a similar filter and press for exactly what you are looking for. For instance an option to select the type extension on the attachment. Who knows someone with a better grasp of filters may step in and show you how. Good Luck
