Message "Login to server imap.googlemail.com failed." Cant find password after trying everything I've used.
When signing into Thunderbird this evening I suddenly encountered an error box saying "Login failed" and offering the message above. Three choices offered in smaller boxes below message, "Retry", "Enter New Password" and "Cancel", Have tried all the passwords that I've used and recorded to no avail. Need someone smarter than I to lead me to a solution!

There are several possible causes. As a first step could you please work through the Gmail troubleshooter here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/14257?hl=en&ref_topic=3397501 If you are still having difficulties after trying those remedies please come back to this forum for further help.
