I can't properly load Adobe Flash player 21 in Firefox 45
I just upgraded to Firefox 45.0.1 and I installed Flash Player 21 apparently successfully according to the loader. But when I go to Acorn TC and load on of the shows I follow, Acorn's website reports that I need to load the most recent version of Flash Player.
21 is the most recent version of flash player for Windows 7 64 bit and I have installed it and uninstalled it several times with Firefox and all other software that uses flash player closed. I have even tried this in Firefox safe mode - all to no avail.
Any thoughts. I can use chrome and IE on this site with no problem and I have used Firefox up until this morning on this sight with no problem.
Firefox works fine on You Tube and several other sites that I use for videos.

I am not sure you read what I wrote or perhaps I was not clear enough.
I am running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
I a running Firefox 45.0.1 in 64 bit.
I have downloaded Adobe Flash Player 21 multiple times (and the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller).
I have uninstalled and then reinstalled Flash Player multiple times. Each time the Adobe Flash Player Website reports that Update 21 to Adobe Flash Player has been correctly installed.
Shockwave does not run in Firefox.
Here is what the addon website reports for Shockwave:
>Shockwave for Director 12.2.0.162 and earlier, Windows (click-to-play) >has been blocked for your protection.
>Why was it blocked?
> Versions 12.2.0.162 and earlier of this plugin are affected by a critical
> security vulnerability that puts users at risk.
>Who is affected?
> All users who have these versions of this plugin installed.
>What does this mean? > The problematic add-on or plugin will be automatically disabled > and no longer usable.
So can you identify the problem for me?
BTW, contrary to your statement above, the URL you provided above:
>You can find links of the latest Shockwave Flash player for Firefox > on this page:
provides no downloads for Shockwave - unless you are using the term "Shockwave Flash Player" interchangeably with "Adobe Flash Player".
Add-ons does show Shockwave Flash 21 installed, but for some reason it is showing as "Never Activate".
When I change that to "Always Activate", Shockwave Flash works fine, so I guess that somehow, during the installation of Adobe Flash Player 21 that setting was switched from "On" to "Off" and I failed to realize that Shockwave Flash and Adobe Flash are one and the same.
Please corroborate for me if you would be so kind.

Your system details list doesn't show the Shockwave Flash plugin as installed and enabled.
- Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins
You can find links of the latest Shockwave Flash player for Firefox on this page:
You can verify on the Adobe Flash Players Test Page that the Flash plugin is working and which version you have.
Note that you need a 32 bit Flash version for the 32 bit Firefox version.
Firefox uses this registry key to find the plugin;
- HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MozillaPlugins\@adobe.com/FlashPlayer
You should see the Shockwave Flash plugin listed on the about:plugins page.

Do not confuse the Shockwave Flash plugin and the Shockwave for Director plugins. Both are different plugins.
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/using-flash-plugin-firefox
Note that you run a 32 bit Firefox version on the 64 bit Windows platform (WOW64 in the user agent).
Firefox doesn't find the Shockwave Flash plugin because it doesn't show in the System Detail list, so if you have it installed then the correct registry key that Firefox inspects to find installed plugins is missing.
Did you check the registry key I posted above?
- HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MozillaPlugins\@adobe.com/FlashPlayer
Do you see the Flash plugin for Firefox?
You should find the Flash plugin file (NPSWF32_##_X_XXX_XXX.dll) in this folder after you have run the Flash installer:
- 64 bit Windows: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\
