How to open a new tab whenever there is a change in the web address

more options

I am wondering if there is any way for me to change the firefox settings so that a new tab is opened whenever there is a change in the web address. I'm not talking about "open in new tab," because I am currently working through java and I can't right-click on hyperlinks. Instead, I have to click on a link which takes me away from the previous page and redirects me to a new one and when I'm finished with the new page, I have to go back which resets my previous page. If I can force firefox to open a new tab whenever the web address changes or whenever I am redirected to a new page, this would make my job a lot easier as the previous page does not have to be reset every time.

Right-click the link and select; Open In New Tab / Window.

I'm not sure what you mean by this:

I am currently working through java and I can't right-click on hyperlinks.

Do you mean that you are clicking a link in content that is displayed by the Java plugin??

I think an add-on like Tab Mix Plus, which has tons of tab-related features, has the best chance of intercepting those links and sending them to a new tab.
