Any good reason it can't compact folders when idling.
Why if the F does it have to compact folders as soon as I try to delete a email?
Thunderbird is open for 12-15 hours a day but can't do it anytime except when you need to do something in Thunderbird?

I also wish it behaved better in that way.
Do you have very large folders?
