Why is it downloading blank firefox browser pages
After I have downloaded a pdf file to my computer I open it and it has downloaded a blank Firefox webpage., and as it opens the "downloaded" document I see the download arrow light up again like it's downloading a file and I discover that it has downloaded or copied that file and now I have 2 downloaded blank pages of whatever it was I tried to download.

Does this happen on many websites, some, just the one?

Hi Fred - Thank you for your help. I'm not a computer geek and your step by step solution sounds complicated - way out of my pay grade. I'll write your instructions down and follow them as best as I can, but I wanted to let you know that I have a lenovo laptop with a Windows 7 OS and everything was fine until I turned it on one evening. All I had done was turn it off and take it next door for a meeting. When I turned it on I had no mouse or keyboard functions. I troubleshot it and found out that the drivers for the standard keyboard and UltraNav mouse were either "corrupted or missing" according to the Device Manager. I took it to a computer repair shop and the technician couldn't figure out what was going on so he wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows 7. (Note: I don't know if it makes a difference but it had MS Windows 7 on it and he installed the Lenovo Windows 7.) Everything seemed okay until I downloaded some publications from the Social Security website and everyone of them were blank web pages. So I tried downloading some files from some of my emails that I had downloaded before I had to have the computer fixed and they also turned out to be blank browser web pages.
I didn't mean to get so detailed with this thing. I hope I didn't bore you to death.
Thanks again Fred for your help.
Tim

Just follow the posted instructions. If you have a problem, just ask.
