Hi - after installing the latest Firefox update 57.0 on my mac, my file extension names ( .jpg, .pdf etc) don't appear when I save a file to my desktop. So 'something.jpg' now just appears as 'something'. It is a Firefox issue as not happening in Chrome. I have gone into Preferences and changed how files are saved (open in Preview etc), but cannot see anywhere to amend to 'display extensions' names or anything like it. Can anyone help? I can open the files if I manually relabel each to reinsert the file names (something to something.jpg) but it is doing my head in! Any suggestions?

hi, could you try if the following steps help?: go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, click on profile folder/show folder and close all firefox windows afterwards. a window should have opened up - in there delete the file named handlers.json - it will be regenerated again the next time you launch the browser...
