Are you sure on that? I have them both on desktop and laptop. Do you have adblocker software installed?

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I have also tried disabling the Ad blocker AND also tried running the browser in safe mode but in vain. Kindly help.

Do you use any features or add-ons that might affect overlays in web pages? For example, ad blockers?

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

Not yet resolved even after launching firefox in SAFE MODE.

Does your system have a touchscreen -- not a touch pad in place of a mouse, but the actual display?

Firefox auto-detects touch support on Windows. In older versions of Firefox, that could cause strange issues on some sites where certain menus could be operated ONLY by touch and not using the mouse. I don't know if that is still an issue, but here's where you find that setting if you want to experiment with it:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste touch and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the dom.w3c_touch_events.enabled preference and edit the value to 0 (zero) and then click OK. The options are:

  • 0 => disable touch
  • 1 => enable touch
  • 2 => auto-detect whether the system supports touch (default in Fx52)

I don't know whether that will take effect immediately or after you exit and start Firefox up again. Does that have any effect on how the problem buttons work?

I don't know if this problem still exists, but in the Windows 8/8.1 days, users of HP All-in-One systems also needed to disable "HID-compliant touch screen" in the Windows device manager. Hopefully that problem hasn't come back in a new form with the latest Windows 10 update.

If I knew what was causing it, that would be easier to answer.

Is Gmail the only page where a drop-down menu is not working?

Can you sign out of your Google account on another page, such as

or does the same problem occur there?

Same problem is occurring everywhere. I am not able to Logout in google.com, not even in my Hotmail account. It doesn't pops up anything.
