Hi, there is a convoluted way which which involves going back to the old version, arranging the thumbnails, then changing back again to the new one!

To use the old version - which might be removed at a later date, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled and double click on it to change 'Value' from True to False, then restart Firefox. To change back to the new 'Top Sites' version, just double click the entry again then restart Firefox.

Alternatively, there are several add-ons such as

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/quick-dial/

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
