Hello

I recently installed Firefox to windows 10 pro.

1) my firefox menu items fonts in Windows 10 look very different from my Windows XP version of Firefox. How can i change them, so they look like they used in XP?

2) The menu folders are now black and white, is it possible to change them into a colour like before?

3) Firefox generally displays all fonts weird way, like they are broken somehow. What can i do?

Please see attached picture.

Thank you!

Firefox 57 and later use black SVG drawings instead of bitmaps for some icons.

See this reply for code in userChrome.css to get colored icons.

It is not that difficult to create userChrome.css if you have never used it.

The first step is to open the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page and find the button to access the profile folder.

You can find this button under the "Application Basics" section as "Profile Folder -> Open Folder". If you click this button then you open the profile folder in the Windows File Explorer. You need to create a folder with the name chrome in this folder (name is all lowercase). In the chrome folder you need to create a text file with the name userChrome.css (name is case sensitive). In this userChrome.css text file you paste the text posted.

In Windows saving the file is usually the only time things get more complicated because Windows can silently add a .txt file extension and you end up with a file named userChrome.css.txt. To avoid this you need to make sure to select "All files" in the dialog to save the file in the text editor using "Save File as".

You need to close and restart Firefox when you create or modify the userChrome.css file.

Regarding the fonts, Firefox uses ClearType and your system's graphics card or graphics chip to smooth fonts. If you have reduce ClearType smoothing or if Firefox is not compatible with your graphics card/chipset driver software, then fonts can be jaggy.

For the compatibility issue, see: Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.
