When my new emails come into the inbox, they instantly show as read verses staying in bold print until I actually open them. What setting will correct this?
I have thunderbird running on an old laptop with windows 7 and everything is working fine. Now that I have it installed on my new laptop with windows 10, my emails are coming into the in box and instantly showing that they are read. All my settings are exactly the same as the old setup. Am I missing something? What can be done to correct this?

the usual "setting" is to turn off the other device you are getting mail on so it stops marking the mail as read when it get it.
