Importing folders from eM client Problem
I seem to be able to Export my storage folders from eM client to my hard-drive in Becky format. Explorer shows a main folder and 80 sub-folders all containing quantities of e-mails. Thunderbird Imports the main folder and all the sub-folders but none of the actual e-mails. As a one day user, I managed successfully and easily to load three e-mail accounts but transferring my essential stored e-mail has proved impossible so far. I was able to transfer my contacts successfully but not my distribution lists. Any suggestions on how to do this from eM client to Thunderbird would be appreciated.

It appears that eM Client exports mail in eml format. If you just have a small number of eml files, they can be imported to TB by drag and drop from Windows Explorer to a subfolder of Local Folders in TB. Otherwise, import eml files with ImportExportTools (how to install). Right-click a subfolder of Local Folders, ImportExportTools/Import all messages from a directory.
eM Client exports contacts as vCards, which can be imported to TB, but with most apps, distribution lists aren't easily transferred, so you will probably have to rebuild them in TB as mailing lists.

Very many thanks. The only remaining puzzle is that eM client said it exported 12,256 e-mails and TB said it imported 16,895 - but I am not going to count them! Quick checks have revealed everything is there. Very pleased. I rather thought that I would have to rebuild my mailing lists. What is mildly annoying is that I had to do this when I replaced my old MS system with eM client and, after a couple of weeks use, I am now consigning eM client to the trash. All the best from across the pond.
