In Thunderbird 60.7.0 (32-bit), how do I keep 2 or more entries with different FirstName but SAME Primary Email Address in my Address Book?

I know a married couple who share a single email address between them. I have them as 2 separate entries in my Personal Address Book. I want one of them in one of my Mailing Lists and the other in another. When I use the MailMerge add-on to send to either of those Lists an email that includes the salutation "Dear {{FirstName}}" in it, I want the salutation in that email to display the FirstName of the spouse who is my intended recipient, not that of the other spouse.

Depending upon the sequence of events followed when I update those 2 Mailing Lists, I get one of 2 results: 1. Spouse 1's Display Name now appears on BOTH Address Book entries or 2. Spouse 1's FirstName is changed to Spouse 2's in my Personal Address Book, creating 2 duplicate entries.

Is there a way for me to ensure that the FirstName in NEITHER of the 2 Personal Address Book entries in question gets automatically updated against my wishes, so the recipient will always see my salutation as I intended it?

Create another address book and place the spouse in a separate record in the new address book. Add that to your mailing list.

Records in Thunderbird's address book as by email address, so having an entry on two address books will, or should, allow you to have two sets of data for a single address. Just be sure to set the display name correctly so you know which is which. No using "John and Judy" in both instances. One will be John and one will be Judy, so when you type the address you can pick John and Judy as two separate entries..
