Can I set Firefox for android and Firefox for Mac to open in a private tab by default?

I'd Much prefer to switch away from private when I don't want it than suddenly realise I've got ten tabs commercial sites open in normal tabs all trying to track me (despite Firefox's gallant efforts) when none or one actually needed not to be private.

Hi,

  • Click the Menu button (top right hand corner).
  • Select Options from the drop-down menu.
  • Click the Privacy tab from the right-hand side pane.
  • Find the sub-heading History, click the box next to Firefox will, and select Never remember history.
  • You'll be prompted to restart Firefox.

Firefox will now always use the same settings it uses in private browsing mode, although it won’t display its normal private browsing interface. It will just look like a normal Firefox browser window.

To undo this change in the future, return to this pane and tell Firefox to remember your history again.

I hope this helps!
