I followed the Old Firefox Data method to copy the whole folder into the About:profiles & copied into the Local (not Root) folder and it's there (still), however, when opening Firefox, it's still got the new profile i made the other night on Refresh, but wished i could return or at least get all the bookmarks back and so, that's my issue right now-is there any way or reason that it doesn't open up to the old profile's Old Firefox Data folder's copy?

I tried restoring (so i thought and couldn't get the procedures going)...or something

When I tried this method: %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ It takes me right to the profiles and there's like 3 listed and the one that holds the backups bookmarks that I'd like is there. I tried copying contents from that folder into the Local (not root) directory folder when i went about:profiles and it looked like it copied ok but wasn't active when i went into the bookmarks, it still shows the most current profile from the refresh. I hope i'm not repeating myself (from orig. posting). Windows 10 may have something to do with the way to restore as well in that i may have to look it up or research if there's a process to allow the move. Thanks

OK. It's good that you were copying. You want to stay in the Roaming folder and copy your bookmarks backup from "old" profile to the "new". Then you may still need to do a Restore.

There is another option: Open Firefox and type about:profiles in the address bar then press Enter. On that page you will see all of your profiles listed. Under the profile where your bookmarks are you can select Launch in a new window or Set as default.

A profile from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop should be copied to "AppData\Roaming" and not to "AppData\Local". The latter location is used for temporary files like the disk cache. The profile location in "AppData\Roaming" is used for the main profile folder that stores your personal data and only this data is moved to the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.

I'm still game to keep trying everything. I mean, i tried the copying of the profile that i did end up finding through the about:profiles method. I'm not real clear on how to recover but i'm going to read it again (the procedures). I still wonder if windows 10 has any bearing on all this or if there is an applicable process that it needs to be involved, etc. ..

Thanks for all your supportive help!!**
