Web page allow

When I go to a new tab with something I'm looking for, web surfing, I guess. I'm always ask to "allow" the page to show. most of the time it's pages I often use or go to. How can I avoid or fix this?

If you ask me to search the forums, I get lost and it takes me hours. Asking is better.

Thanks for the help.

Asking is good because a bar with an Allow button can appear for multiple reasons. Based on your description, here's my guess:

Make sure the redirect block is turned off:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference has a value of true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

Hi jscher,

There was a long list of items I changed to false, which worked great!

However how does this effect my security or cause me to be vulnerable to malware and other type of hacks?

Thank you very much for your time.

Hi Val, I confess I don't know what most of the accessibility preferences do!! The one I mentioned specifically was intended to help users of screen reader technology to avoid losing their place. It doesn't really provide much protection. For the others, well, I guess you'll see?
