Is there a way to use a list of sites you want to block with the manage exceptions option in settings. Several times now I have gone to the option and found it empty of entries, having to replace the sites I need to add one at a time blocking and reopening the option for each entry. Two things would be of great help: 1. find out how the manage exceptions option is being cleaned out and stop that action from happing 2. I have prepaired a text file listing the sites that I feel I don't want cookies from, a way to enter that list as a group (batch) into the manage exception blocking setting at least would make the work faster.

I enter the list to my host file also block them with my firewall witch dose some good on the house side of the blocking but little on the browser side.

anyhow any of this you can help with would be great. Don Smith smitm13@msn.com

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

  • do not clear the Site Preferences
  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data
  • clearing "Cookies" will remove all cookies including cookies with an allow exception you may want to keep

Site Preferences is used related to clearing history data. It includes all website related exceptions that you can create is various places. You can find SP in the "Clear Recent History" window (Ctrl+Shift+Delete) and in the settings for "Clear history when Firefox closes" in "Settings -> Privacy & Security".
