Sogning into an account on Firefox for Android is no longer possible
When I try to sign into my account on mobile (the app itself, not the site since clearly on the website I'm signed in) I get to a white screen that shows a bunch of details of my account status. I am not allowed to progress past this screen. Any way I leave that screen, closing the app, using back, praying the 'x' in they lower left corner, reverts my login. So sync is not allowed on FF mobile anymore? I wish they wouldn't still list it as an option in the app if it's depreciated and no longer supported. If this is a bug, well you got me since FF also doesn't allow bug reporting.

Hi Jared
Firefox Sync is still available in Firefox for Android.
If you go to https://accounts.firefox.com/signin, do you see both of your devices listed in under "Connected Services"?
I see an unnamed device that is listed under in the time period I was trying to log in. The browser on mobile "logs in" it just has no way at all to retain that sync. As I stated, if I set up sync, the browser is no longer usable because the only thing it will do is show my account. If I close the browser or use back to actually try to open tabs, it removes all syncs from the app and reverts it to being not signed in. There is no way to use sync on FF mobile on my device.
To be clear, I both tried to scan the sync QR code generated by the pairing URL, and tried to login with my username and password. Neither of these allow syncing with my FF account.
So, for example, I just tried again just now. I load https://accounts.firefox.com/pair/ . I use the sync feature in the app to scan the code generated. When I scan that code, I get the screen shown in screenshot 1. When I proceed and log in, I get the screen shown in screenshot 2. There is nothing to do on that screen except look at my account info. When I leave that screen, sync reverts and I have no account sync on the device.
It also took several tries to upload these screenshots because the uploader kept failing with a 502 bad gateway. Firefox, please... :(
That is accessing your Firefox Account online.
If you open the Firefox for Android menu and select Settings, do you see your email address listed at the top of the screen?
Hi,
Exactly the same thing is happening to me, and since no answer was provided to the latest question, at least for me, Firefox for Android does not sign in on Galaxy S22, when logging in it only opens the Firefox Account online but does not sign me in to the browser itself.
Paul,
I don't think I'm getting my point across. No, this doesn't keep me logged in when I then check the settings menu in the app. When I open the settings menu, I do not see my email and I've been saying this from the beginning. As I've said, leaving that account screen in ANY way unsyncs my account / doesn't complete sync / whatever other way you'd like to describe this phenomenon.
Oddly, to respond to Ravaerris' comment, I also have a Galaxy S22 (not plus or ultra).
I was finally able to sync by reinstalling the app and then logging in using my email and NOT attempting to use the sync QR code option. But on the S22, the sync QR code doesn't function correctly to sync accounts, for what it's worth.
What happens when you try to connect your device using the alternative method of verifying by email rather than using the QR code?
