I went to migrate Thunderbird to a new PC and discovered that the Tools>Export choice is missing from the drop-down menu. Attached is a screen capture. This is version 91.11.0.

Yes, I know I should be able to move the directory over from Windows Explorer, but it seems odd that this menu is missing. The Help Center article was just updated a couple weeks ago and shows the menu, so it wouldn't seem to be a deprecated feature: [[Export your Thunderbird Profile|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-export]]

Is this a bug that has somehow crept into this version or does this feature need to be enabled somewhere? I don't know how else to report this anomaly other than this forum.

That feature is new in version 102, which has both an export profile feature and an import feature. To export your profile, click help>moretroubleshootinginformation, scroll down to profiles, click 'about:profiles' to confirm the exact location of the profile. Then, exit TB and with File Explorer, copy to an external drive. When starting TB on new pc, ignore the emailwizard and click the Home tab, which brings up a page with the new import facility.

I didn't know there was a newer version than what I currently have installed, as Thunderbird says it's up to date. I'll look around or do it as you suggested, using Windows Explorer.

Thanks for the quick reply and the information.

You're welcome. You happen to have been using the final release of that series of Thunderbird. That's why it said you were up to date. I agree, it's confusing.
