Firefox failed overnight, unable to install new download
Apparently, overnight Firefox failed, monitor was still on leaving grey window with message "box" asking to close all tabs or cancel. Message box was frozen with "close all tabs" checked. Unable to do anything with cursor in that message box. Anytime the Firefox icon in taskbar is clicked, grey window appears.
Downloaded new Firefox and installed as usual, but old icon remains on taskbar, new icon never appears. The only Firefox icon on taskbar will only show the greyed screen. From my desktop I tried to "open" but Firefox will not open and the bad icon remains as only icon on the taskbar. I've tried to "unpin" the bad icon with no results.
For what it's worth, I've been using a "no-name" Father's day laptop since mid June and it has had no issues, performing great.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated as I am not a happy camper on this "Edge". Will Babb willjag@yahoo.com

Hi there! It sounds like you're having a bit of trouble with Firefox. No worries, we'll get you sorted out! From what you've described, it seems like there might be a hiccup with your current Firefox installation. To get things back on track, try this:
Let's start fresh by uninstalling Firefox completely. Go to "Settings" > "Apps" on your Windows 11 system, find Firefox, and uninstall it. Next, head over to the official Firefox website and download the latest version of Firefox. Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the steps to install Firefox anew. When the installation is complete, you should see a new Firefox icon on your desktop and taskbar. Give it a click and hopefully, you'll be back to browsing smoothly!
If you still face issues or the old icon remains, you can also try restarting your computer after the fresh installation. This usually helps in getting everything back in order.
