after sync I lost the bookmarks that had been on my mobile device (kindle fire)
I setup sync, the device paired. It said it was syncing and when finished the bookmarks folder looked totally different on my kindle fire. I can not find any of the recently added bookmarks on the kindle. The History and Open Tabs are still the same, I didn't have those selected for sync. I checked and one password that I knew was previously incorrect on the kindle got updated to the correct one from the desktop. But I am worried about any possible passwords that were only on the kindle or were correct on the kindle and incorrect on the desktop, based on the bookmarks I suspect those were lost also. I was worried about this and had tried to find the profile data on the kindle but no file manager helped, I couldn't find it anywhere. And there doesn't seem to be a way to access profile manager on android. I also poked around with adb with no success. I was hoping to make a backup before using sync but I gave up and did sync anyway. Is there anyway to recover this data?

Hi
Firefox for Android is not designed, tested or made available to be used on Kindle Fire devices.
The best bet to rescue your data would be to save the text of the bookmarks to an email and open that email on your other device.
That is an excuse not a solution. The damage has already occurred and the biggest issue is the effect on saved passwords (website logins). Also login to Mozilla for sync seems to cause random lockup and crashes of Firefox browser. These are serious bugs that should be addressed. And at least acknowledged with a warning to avoid use of sync. If sync can not be trusted for mobile devices then it is basically useless.
Hi
I use Firefox Sync myself and there is no need for such a warning. Firefox for Android is designed and tested to be made available from the Google Play store. The Amazon version of Android has a few differences and as such sideloading Firefox for Android (or any app not designed for a platform) comes with increased risk.
