Thunderbird updated yeterday, but then I started receiving emails that have attachments, but all I get in the email body is a series of letters and numbers. When I pick the emails up off my phone, no problem. Any clues?

right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.

It might pay to stop your antivirus scanning in the Thunderbird profile folder while the program is running.
