Are the unwanted suggestions the ones that -- (1) Appear automatically when you click in the address bar, before you type any text for Firefox to match off of (these are the "Shortcuts" from the built-in Firefox Home / new tab page)? (2) Appear in the address bar itself where you are typing (autofill)? (3) Appear in the drop-down as you type?
