Firefox probably can't find the profile that is specified in profiles.ini
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
Thanks for the reply. I've also tried copying my profile from a computer running Vista and tried un-installing FIrebox, booting and then re-installing. Same problem.
You also need to copy profiles.ini. Otherwise Firefox can't find that profile or you need to use the [Manager] to create a new profile and chose the location of that copied profile as the location of that new profile.
I see that I posted the wrong link above, sorry about that. Should have been: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_a_missing_profile
