Signed up for online bank access today, selected my username and password.

FF did not ask if I wanted to save this information.

Seems I'm usually prompted on other sites.

Is the prompt or lack thereof determined by FF at my end or by the software running at the other end?

Some sites block the saving of usernames and passwords. For more details see http://kb.mozillazine.org/User_name_and_password_not_remembered

didn't work, the site in question has 1 page to enter user name, and another to enter password.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

If it uses different pages then you may not be able to use the password manager to store the details.

You could try the Saved Password Editor add-on which allows you to manually add usernames/passwords to the password manager, but no guarantee that it will work with the site that you want.
