Firefox will not open after I've had viruses on my computer

I had been using firefox and have TONS of very important passwords and bookmarks saved on there. I got a lot of spyware and viruses all of a sudden and firefox stopped opening. I have had to use internet explorer in it's place and am not happy about that at all. I have since hopefully removed everything from my pc and now have virus protection. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox twice but it still will not open when I click on it. PLEASE HELP! :)

Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile. If the problem goes away, you can then move your bookmarks and other important settings into the new profile.

thanks for replying so quickly! i did see that helpful info already but it didn't show me how to get there through start and run (since firefox wouldn't open) i'm going through the steps now...THANKS AGAIN!
