In the last week or two I am now having to answer a question about authorized users b4 FF will start. This appears in a small window titled "Run As" asking the question as to which user account to be used. It has 2 options: 1st radio bullet is current user with check box under for "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity". 2nd radio bullet is "the following user" with place to identify and give password. The only way I can get FF to load is by UNchecking the protect box. I have looked at all my addons but cannot find anything pertaining to this. I think it might have something to do with Microsoft as IE will start without this box.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.

Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".

In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.

You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
