cookies are showing up in Firefox even though I have blocked the associated site/domain
I have a number of sites/domains blocked on the cookies Exceptions list, but cookies are still being added to Firefox.
Some of the items on the list are of the form AAAA.com.
Do I need to add them as *.AAA.com?
Thoughts?

You should not need to add subdomains or a wildcard. As a test, I created an exception to block cookies from wikipedia.org and it blocked cookies from en.wikipedia.org.
If it's a site you are visiting, you can drill down to its current cookies and permissions by right-clicking the page and using View Page Info. (Page Info also is available from the Tools menu if right-clicking isn't allowed on a site.)
If you don't see a problem there, where do you see the cookies? Is this from a security scanner?
Yes, I am working from the cookie list that CCleaner produces. But, I believe the same cookies are showing up in the Firefox "Display Cookies" list/
