When I show the bookmarks toolbar the bookmarks icon disappear. I think it's a feature, but it's silly! I need to show both the toolbar and the icon.

But when I hide the bookmarks toolbar it appears again. Is there any way to change this? Right now I'm forced to use the Menu Bar to quickly access my bookmarks...

Thanks...

EDIT: It seems to be very buggy... If you right-click and select Customize... you get a window, if it is opened I can see the icon clearly. There are two bookmark icons (one with an arrow, and one without).

I need the one with an arrow, the one without (an arrow) works perfectly.

You should see a star icon to open that list at the right end of the Bookmarks Toolbar if that bar is visible.

A possibility that you can try is to drag the star icon with the drop marker from the toolbar palette to the left of the Bookmarks Toolbar Items on the Bookmarks Toolbar.

When I right click on the toolbar I get the "Customize..." options. http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x291/Tpiom/ShowCustomizeToolbar.jpg

And I see all the icons I need:

  1. Back/Forward
  2. Homepage
  3. Download Helper
  4. Bookmarks icon (plus a tiny arrow to the right)
  5. Refresh
  6. Stop
  7. And AdBlock Plus...

However, as I click "Done" it turns into this... http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x291/Tpiom/HideCustomizeToolbar.jpg

Only a few icons appear:

  1. Back/Forward
  2. Homepage
  3. Download Helper
  4. And AdBlock Plus...

Where did the rest go?

As for the refresh and stop icons, that's due to a change in FF4. If you have them to the right of the address bar during the customize icons configuration, they'll merge with the address bar when you close customization. However, if you move them to the left of the address bar, they will not merge with it. Also, if you place refresh to the left of the stop icon when customizing, stop will only show when a page is loading/refreshing.

For me, the bookmark icon with the pulldown arrow disappears after I close the configuration window. However, the bookmark icon without the arrow does not disappear. Yet, I would prefer the icon with the arrow so that I could quickly open the bookmark pulldown list and select a bookmark, rather than opening a separate pane.

I found that if you drag it to the left of the left-most tab, it will stay there. It's not where I want it either but it's close enough.

Both icons will work on the booksmarks toolbar, but only the one without the down arrow will appear on the navigation bar. The only solution is to move the regular bookmarks icon to the navigation bar and the bookmarks icon with the down arrow to the bookmarks toolbar (click View, Toolbars, Bookmarks Toolbar to make visible).
