I got a Flash update this morning, now every time I start Firefox, the Plugin Check tells me:

Missing FLASH?

For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version.

- - - - - But further down that same page it tells me the version I have is up to date:

Shockwave Flash Shockwave Flash 10.3 r181 10.3.181.22 Up to Date

In the "More system details" for your post, it lists "10.3 r181". What Adobe's latest bulletin recommends is:

Adobe recommends users of Adobe Flash Player 10.3.181.16 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris update to Adobe Flash Player 10.3.181.22 (10.3.181.23 for ActiveX).

Perhaps the plugin checker can't actually distinguish between .14 and .22 plugins based on the information it can access??

The "MetaStream 3 Plugin r4" plugin that shows in your More system details list has been reported to cause the plugin check page to appear.

As I said, this version of Flash was just offered to me and installed about 12 hours ago... the upgrade notice box doesn't tell anything about the version.

After clicking 'download' (but before checking the 'I agree' box and clicking Install) it doesn't tell anything beyond the major.minor version.

Well, I've uninstalled the Viewpoint Media Player, which according to google is what adds the MetaStream plugin. Add/Remove said it hadn't been used in just about 2 years. I don't find MetaStream in any of the plugins subdirs. We'll see what happens the next time I restart Firefox.

Now it says the QuickTime 7.6.6 plugin is what's outdated, and it's no longer claiming it has disabled Flash because it was outdated.

You can fix this problem with forcing the file blocklist.xml to update.

That update will remove the severity="0" flags in the file that cause the problems.

Well, uninstalling the Viewpoint Media Player, and updating QuickTime to 7.6.9 has made the Plugin Check page stop appearing.

Odd that all it showed to begin with was Flash being disabled because it was allegedly outdated when it was actually brand new.
