each time I hit a link in an email I get the message: "General Failure. Cannot find the URL... Then the desired, linked page opens. Why am I getting this annoying message screen?
The above message appears whenever I hit a link to a website. Then the desired page loads and the warning screen goes away.
This is annoying. This does not happen when I use Internet Explorer as my browser, but I prefer to use Firefox. What can I do to get rid of this?

This can happen when the registry settings for links have mixed up commands. This article hopefully will help: Windows error opening Internet shortcut or local HTML file - Firefox - MozillaZine Knowledge Base. Any luck?
Thanks. I did all this and nothing changed. However, you or another helper suggested reinstalling Firefox and that did solve the problem. Thanks so much.
