Making Yahoo! my default email - Yahoo's page says it only works with Internet Explorer (http://help.yahoo.com/l/au/yahoo7/mail/ymail/settings/settings-10.html) surely that can't be right!

Did you try it on Firefox? If they say it's not supported, then you get no guarantee from them that it will work. But that doesn't mean it won't. Try it and see what happens! :)
