They had to suspend the release of 7.0 and quickly update it to 7.0.1 after some problems.

"We’ve identified an issue in which some users may have one or more of their add-ons hidden after upgrading to the latest Firefox version, affecting both desktop and mobile. That's still no reason not to have release notes.

I gave the links in my post above to the release notes.

iirc Mozilla Firefox is trying to make release notes etc less obtrusive, but I do not think that should have stopped you seeing the Firefox & release notes.

Ah, thanks for the links. "Less obtrusive" is fine, but "no link from the application or the web page," which seems to be the situation, is bad.

Bug 685727 - Remove What's New page from the Firefox Update Experience.

Including comments

Because of all the recent upgrade concerns from our users and the recent chem spills, we'd like to remove the WN page from the update process for users on 4+ moving up to 7.

Instead, we would like for them to just see their normal start page.
This will only last until Fx 8 and we'll make decisions going forward from release to release.

Obviously they are still struggling to deal with the ramifications of the new, six week, rapid release cycle.
