cannot view code letters known as captcha using firefox
When accessing certain websites, a method of determining if a person or a computer is accessing the site is used - its known as captcha letters. These are distorted alphabet letters which require interpretation by a human. With the latest version of firefox 8.0 I am unable to see those letters displayed. I just get a blank text box. I am able to see them on Internet Explorer. I'm wondering if there is a setting for FF8.0 that allows me to see these non- standard text letters. I am using windows 7. I have posted the url for the ferret site where the captcha letters are supposed to be displayed - tree 33. The text shows up on IE but not on FF8

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
- Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
- Check the permissions for all sites on the about:permissions page, via the location bar
- Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
- Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
- Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Thank you - this solved my problem. In Checking the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scrolled through all the sites/images with the cursor Down key). I found that I had a blocked site - unblocking it allowed the "captcha" images to display on Firefox.
