Bookmark disappeared all a sudden. Tried to to restore them from on of the "json" file, get the message: "unable to restore from backup". When I try to install new bookmarks, nothing happens (ie they are not installed).

Thank you for your response, Cor-El.

I did not get a chance to test your solution because I did first came up with one of my own:

1) copy the latest bookmarks "json" file to a safe location, 2) download Firefox 9.1, 2) uninstall Firefox (it was Firefox 9.1 that was installed as an update of older versions) from my laptop, asking it to remove all settings and personal files, 3) reinstall firefox 4) Import the bookmark file from the safe location.

This time it did work. However, I noticed that when I ran Paretologic PC Health Advisor to clean the registry and clean un-needed personal files, the bookmarks had disappeared again, but that time I could re-import them successfully. So it looks like the culprit is an incompatibility with Paretologic PC Health Advisor Personal file cleaner utility and Firefox 9.1 because this did not happen with earlier versions of Firefox.

Well, I'm having the same problem. My bookmarks have disappeared and I have neither the time nor the computer savvy to figure out how to do what you just said. Guess I should simply just be happy Firefox has worked so well before, but this is a pain in the backside.

I don't understand your post. What do I do?

Sorry for previous post. I clicked on the links. Could only open the support one because the others were blocked on our system. I'll try the instructions from the support link. Hope I don't mess things up more.
