MY firefox will crash for no reason, freezes up, runs so very slow and have to wait for window to open

My firefox runs very slow, and have to wait for my email to load, it will freeze up and sometime programs will crash or hang up. Acts like there is not enough memory, but have run explorer and it runs great and no problem with memory.
