Firefox provides a feature to search for a mail from the folders where they have been stored. But I wish to know how one can do the search which specifies a particular sender, subject, date or unread mails only from the folders. What, if any, is the syntax for specifying such filters, especially if the folders contain a large number of mails?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
