I support a virtual server hosted at GoDaddy. I can't launce the Hosting Control Panel from my GoDaddy Account , tab vanishes, no error msg

I log into the GoDaddy account, choose Servers and hit the Launch button to get to the control panel. A tab begins to open but then closes instantly without any error message. This all works perfectly in Chrome, so I just use it; but I can't diagnose something that doesn't display a message, it just doesn't work.

I responded in another thread with a general suggestion: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

If you can't access the relevant domain without it closing, you can edit the domain at the top of the dialog in order to call up a list of its cookies.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Also, you might try launching the page in a new window instead of a new tab, although it's hard to see why that should change the behavior. To do that, you could temporarily turn off this setting:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Tabs > "Open new windows in a new tab instead"
