Generally, Java is not safe. It's not because of Firefox, it's problem of Java developers. If you don't use Java plugin often, it would be better idea to disable it. You can read more about Java's problems ex. here.
The Mozilla developers have decided to block all Java versions because of ongoing security issues with Java.
If you enable the Java plugin via "Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" then you can manually enable the Java plugin on trusted websites via the red click-to-play icon on the location bar.
- bug 843373 - Please Enable CTP for all released versions of Java
So is it ok if i leave it on like that or shld i disable it??
If you never visit websites that use the Java plugin then you can leave that plugin disabled and even in that case you only need to enable the plugin and reload the page if you trust that site to make use of the Java plugin.
You will still have to click the icon on the location bar and confirm the security pop-up from the Java plugin ("Do you want to run this application") to make Java work.
K ... so as such it is not a problem of my pc or frm my end. Its the Java problems and we can just hope to get it solved ??
