Did Mozilla really discontinued Firefox x64?
Hi there,
I'm currently using Waterfox which is a x64 bit optimized version of Firefox. I wanted to ask if Mozilla really discontinued its Firefox x64 project because I'd really enjoy such a browser. Like Waterfox says "64 bit is the future". We could get huge performance increases with a x64 bit optimized version.
Unfortunately Waterfox is really slow at updating right now and we are a bit behind Firefox here.
Thanks!

No Mozilla did not discontinue Win64 builds and they did not really exist for release anyways.
When Mozilla announced they were planning to put development of Win64 Firefox on hiatus back in November many sites incorrectly took that as being axed or discontinued.
They have however made the Win64 builds development less of a priority in last while as they were downgraded from Tier-2 to Tier-3 builds while official builds (Win32, Mac OSX 64/32 and Linux 64/32) are Tier-1. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Supported_build_configurations

Waterfox is an independent project. It's not up to Mozilla to continue or discontinue it.
Sorry, misread your question.
The Bugzilla tracking system still shows activity on resolving over a dozen bugs that stand in the way of 64-bit build for Windows. Considering the number of issues, I wouldn't expect it any time soon.

Could you give me the link for this Bugzilla section jscher, please?
This is Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
Thank you! But where can you view all existing reports and look which has been fixed and which not? I can't find it.
This is the one that shows the remaining open bugs: 471090 – (tracking_win64) [meta] Windows x64 build tracking bug. Or was it this one with a slightly different list: 558448 – (support-win64) [Tracking bug] officially support Windows 64-bit builds.

Alright, thank you very much! BTW. have you already took a look at Google Images with the newest Firefox? In the current Waterfox and FF x64 version Firefox stuck when I quickly scroll down the page. When I do it very slow it's more or less smooth. And sometimes Firefox even stops working for a few seconds.
My hardware's pretty good and in other browsers doesn't happen. Any info about that?
On Google images, I can definitely get ahead of the image loading and then Firefox or Google won't always let me scroll smoothing through the placeholders. The scroll wheel seems to be particularly effected, perhaps because Google is firing mouseover events in addition to retrieving new images. But I don't really have a good way to compare with Firefox 19.
Well, I have the same issue with the 64 bit version of Firefox
I run Linux Mint 64Bit with Firefox 20 64Bit, I am unsure about Windows it sounds like it has just been delayed please be patient with our development team :)
