Firefox doesn't restore my profile settings
Hi All,
I have followed the instruction on backing up / restoring firefox profile.
But when i do copy everything from the old profile into the new profile whilst firefox is closed and when i do open firefox. Nothing changes, i don't see my bookmarks or anything else. I have tried to delete the new profile and creating another new one but that doesn't help, also tried the troubleshooting information and reset firefox but still no help
Is there something that i am missing?

Make sure, when your opening the firefox, your loading into the updated profile not a empty profile..
If you have the backup of profile data, delete all the profile and create a new profile and transfer the data
What do you mean by "Make sure, when your opening the firefox, your loading into the updated profile not a empty profile."
How do i make sure that i am loading the updated profile.
"If you have the backup of profile data, delete all the profile and create a new profile and transfer the data "
I have already tried this but still doesn't work.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
I have tried all the above
Which files did you try to copy to the Firefox profile folder?
Did you check in the Task Manager that Firefox is fully closed?
I selected everything at first but that didn't work. So i only select important files/folders that i got from
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile
But that didn't work either.
And yes i did check firefox was close from task manager
Which files in particular did you restore?
I just said that in the above comment
You didn't mention any special file names.
It is usually best not to copy a full profile, but only copy SQLite database files that you know worked before and the key3.db file for the passwords.
Files like sessionstore.js and cert8.db can be copied as well.
Files like prefs.js and localstore.rdf are best left out as well as the extensions.
In the above comment i said i only copied important files stated in this article
"Recovering important data from an old profile" https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile
^That is the link^
hello, also cannot restore my backup file via mozillabackup. It shows always the message, that my file is a not a valid ZIp-archive. Extracting of the backup file via various archivators also doesn't help.
