Reset FF and it still acts buggy, what else to do?
It is slow opening pages, there's too often a delay in typing, streaming music & video files sit there not opening, and I keep getting slow script prompts, which even when I click to kill the page, still stall. What's up with this? Should I try the Beta version?

Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
- Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
- In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
- Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Thank you.
I did deselect hardware acceleration option, but still am having problems. I'm not using the latest quicktime or Java plug in, but am using the latest update that works with my OS (10.6.8)...
But odd things keep happening, slow to close out, then when I re-open, the option to resume previous session is gone, so I had to spend a lot of time, searching for and re-opening each previously open tabs manually, a royal pain in the butt, especially because unlike Safari, the re-opened last session, when it does work, and does re-open, does not show up in the history! With Safari, I can just see the list of all the windows in my history, so I can go right back to the last time they opened, and open them one by one, quite quickly.
And I'm still finding streaming video & audio sometimes working, sometimes not... And I can't figure out why I can't make the search window in my toolbar get any larger, and the address window smaller...
You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Multiple_profile_files_created
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).
