cannot install greasemonkey add on
had a problem with my Lord of Ultima game acting up, so i decided to get rid of all of my add ons to see if they just needed a fresh install. Well I got rid of greasemonkey, but now I can reinstall grease monkey add on. I did use a program called advanced uninstaller at the same time which might have deleted some information for that. Sorry I am not techinically educated and can't remember correct terminology to say this. Well I used the uninstall program hoping it would get rid of the bugs in my online game, but it didn't. And after doing a clean scan, that's when I could no longer install greasemonkey. Or so I think. But I also followed a website advice on how to trouble shoot installing greasemonkey and it told me to go to about.config and change some things. That may also be where I screwed things up too since after following those directions it lead me to different results than what the webiste said it would. Bottom line, i think screwed everything up. I also did a reinstall of firefox and that did not work either.
Please help as i am an officer in my game and its live and at a critical point where i need to have the greasemonkey back.
any help would be appreciated, Thankyou for your time, Temie

Were you trying to install Greasemonkey from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/
Do you get an error message, or what happens?
In case Greasemonkey is installed but disabled, you maybe be able to enable it on the Add-ons page here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > in the left column click Extensions
Can you check your history to track down the page with advice about changing about:config settings? Otherwise, it may be quite difficult to reverse engineer what you did...
As an emergency workaround, you also could try installing Greasemonkey in a separate Firefox profile. If it works, that would suggest the problem is one of your settings, or a conflict with another add-on, and that Firefox itself is working fine.
Create a new Firefox profile
The new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash), but no themes, extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
firefox.exe -P
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
When creating a new profile, I recommend using the default location suggested, and to avoid data loss, not re-using any existing folder. Before deleting unneeded profiles, I suggest making a backup first in case something were to go wrong.
Will GM install? Any difference with the game?
