I updated java to vers 7 45 but even after restart firefox doesn't recognize it, it says it's not installed. It appears installed in windows programs list
After installing the java update adn restarting the java update doesn't show in the add-ons list and for ex the formula1.com live timing doesn't start. It says the program is not installed. Happened to me the last update also, just don't remember what i did then to make it work. Thanx.

Make sure that you have the 32 bit Java version installed.
It is possible that something went wrong with updating the registry key(s) that Firefox is using to find the Java plugin.
