Using Firefox 25.0.1 on Mac os x 10.7.5

Everytime I add a bookmark, try to move a bookmark or delete a bookmark. It seems that the "bookmarks" freeze and I can't move any or click on any. I'd have to wait for a while.

I got maybe 1000+ bookmarks and usually single or dual subfolders only.

I tried disabling all plugs but it didn't solve the issue. I also reset firefox a few times without any luck.

I deleted the file. and firefox made a new one. Issues didnt change. =(

One thing I realized is that I did a Firefox reset and the issues did not seem to come back. UNLESS, I customized the settings the way I want them. I went through all preferences and chose some options that fit my needs. I also customized my navigation, bookmarks and addon bar. For 5 minutes no problems. After that the same thing happened.

Why is this happening? I already uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox from scratch.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.
