as i was installng firefx regclean pro got installed also-very suspicious that this came along with firefox
reg clean installed several programs that I had to uninstall. This happened almost immediately after I installed Firefox so I am suspicious that these were connected. Regclean had the Microsoft windows logo but they are NOT affiliated nor endorsed by Microsoft. Anyone else have this experience?

Only download Firefox directly from Mozilla, no where else.

In addition, you should uninstall firefox - run an antivirus and adware programm, donwload firefox from the official site(see the-edmeister post) and reinstall them.
I downloaded Firefox from the Mozilla site. What I ended up doing was resetting the computer back 24 hours and it solved the problem, however, I have not re-downloaded Firefox!! A whole bunch of other strange programs got loaded on at the same time, which I have uninstalled. I have Firefox on another computer, no problems but it has been there for a few years....thanks!!
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

linderlu, the Firefox any version for any OS (whether Windows, Mac OSX, Linux and for Android) from mozilla.org only comes as Firefox as it has never had anything bundled in with the program or setup. The stuff you found was likely installed by other software you installed or updated around same time. You may be thinking it must have came with Firefox because you noticed the stuff after installing Firefox and assumed Firefox was to blame.
Also note that many software from download dot com aka CNET have been getting bundled stuff in with their own installers while the same software from their own homepage does not come with any of the extra stuff.
