Why does syncing always add empty duplicate folders and delete substantial bookmarks, even when using my recently deleted and recreated/reset firefox account?
Using either the old sync or the newly release sync with FF 29, I'm unable to properly sync and maintain my bookmarks. I have 1 set of bookmarks (in exported HTML) that I am trying to use as the base of all of my synced bookmarks. I have tried several times to delete them, and re-import an exported set of bookmarks, and after removing all my other devices, I synced my imported bookmarks to my account. After restarting and resyncing, many of the bookmarks were missing, and there were duplicate, empty folders with the same name as some of my bookmark folders. I've tried every thing to completely reset my account's information and bookmarks, but I just can't get my bookmarks set up correctly with sync.
In the course of trying, I did remove all other syncing devices (android and other windows desktops), and have not added any except my one primary computer.
Is there a way to reset my account more thoroughly? It seems to me that there are conflicts between my data and some residual data on the server. How can I go about getting my bookmark syncing to work?
I would very much appreciate any help as this has been quite a frustrating few hours.
Thank you, Dhruv

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Bookmarks+not+saved#w_fix-the-bookmarks-file
- Places Maintenance: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/
Make sure to disconnect from Sync before trying to repair the places.sqlite file.
