Since recently I cannot upload files larger than 1 Mb to my webmail application. I have this problem only with the recent version of firefox (42). Uploading files with other browsers isn't a problem. On a computer with an older version of firefox uploading isn't also a problem. I also tried to startup in the save mode option. The problem still persist.

Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

It is possible that security (Anti-Virus, firewall) is causing problems. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

I allready tried firefox in safe mode, the problem still exist. I have no problem when I'm using an older version of firefox or other browsers like iexplore.

In windows safe mode with networkconnection there is no problem with firefox.

What do I have to do to make firefox working?

If it works in Windows Safe mode then it is likely that your security software doesn't allow uploading files or takes too much time to scan the files and causes the upload to fail. You need to check the settings in your security software or contact the company for support.

I think the problem is firefox version 42. II have the same problem on two pc's with different anti-virus software. On an other computer with the same anti-virussoftware as one of the others, but with an older version of firefox I have no problems With Iexplore and chrome the problem also doesn't exist.

So what do I (or Mozilla) have to do to make firefox working again?
