Havechanged from old XP computer to Windows 7 computer but email address is not recognised it uses POP3. Name and password were as on ISP account data

Have loaded Thunderbird on to new computer and skipped the offer of a new account. Hoped that Thunderbird would search successfully for my account data from my ISP which uses POP3 but it has been unsuccessful. Have checked that my name, email address and password are as shown on ISP account page. Thanks
