If you do not know your update welcome page is bugged and will not go away, Mozilla has some serious problems!

What file names do those 349 files have?

There shouldn't be any numbered files in the Firefox profile folder.

You can probably delete them all.

You can see here which files can be present.

I decided to Google this problem, I found a lot of pages about it , one where Mozilla actually acknowledged the problem and on another forum a fix that you have to type in somewhere to get rid of the problem with this welcome page bug.

I must say that this is BS, and this welcome page should be gone already!

If you keep seeing this page then it is likely that there is a problem with the preferences as you should only see this page once.

First is always first to check that the page didn't get set by accident as one of the home pages.

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

Hello, Thank you for responding cor-el, I already did that and the home page is still Mozilla Firefox Start Page and it is the only one listed and is the only home page I have used in Firefox for many years, the Welcome page starts up first, then the Firefox Start Page starts in a new tab just like it does after an update. The Welcome page is suppose to only run once and disappear on the next start up, but this one is corrupted or bugged in some way and always starts when I run Firefox since the last update.

The Mozilla Startup Page files are not corrupted because it starts up normally but after the Welcome page in a new tab just like it is suppose to after a update.

@FredMcD I did not realize that I was not communicating with Mozilla, and I apologize if I offended anybody here on this forum, I am sorry.

Thank You, Wink

You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Note that Windows hides some file extensions by default. Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension. You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.
